The majority of residences either collect and store rain water or pump from a stream or pond or both. Shearwater Marine and Coast Ready Enterprises (formerly Pacific Canadian Fish) have water rights and a dam/pipeline system. This system services these two companies plus the school and hydro and some private residences. Ground water on Denny Island is called "Cedar Water"; it is acidic and has a slight brownish colour. back
