
Denny Island : Transportation Systems
Road
There are approximately four miles of gravel road on Denny Island. There is no public transportation. Shearwater Marine runs a charter van service between their facility and the airport.
Air
Scheduled air service is from the Campbell Island Airport. Pacific Coastal Airlines and Timberline Air presently run scheduled services. Scheduled airlines will use Denny Island Airport if traffic warrants. Charter services by float or wheeled plane are readily available. These are heavily used in this area.
Marine
Passenger and vehicle - BC Ferries runs a ferry service to Denny Island. Winter service; northbound from Port Hardy to Denny Island to Prince Rupert is once every two weeks. Southbound is the same frequency. Summer service; Northbound from Port Hardy to Denny Island to Bella Coola is twice a week. Southbound is once a week. There is no service to Prince Rupert in the summer except to foot passengers who are willing to travel to McLaughlin Bay on Campbell Island. Both winter and summer service includes passenger and vehicle roll on/off.
Shearwater Marine runs a Seabus service between their dock and Waglisla for passengers several times per day.
